Three Dimensional Photography

I went into a small gallery on Charlotte Street in London after something caught my eye through the window. On display was a stack of different sized wooden-framed cubes. Inside each frame was a photo, printed in layers, giving the image a three dimensional effect. The 'skyboxes', as I later discovered to be the name, were absolutely mesmerizing. The combination of the vibrant colors and the three dimensional effect were two elements that made the photographs different to anything I've seen before. The artist behind these skyboxes, Perran Costi is a talented individual who I became a quick fan of after taking a look at his website and seeing his other work.

Bahrain Trip

We are saddened to see whats happening in Bahrain. We visited the country over a month ago during the same weekend as the Road Rush race and fell in love with the beautiful country and their overly-friendly people!

We spent half a day sightseeing in Muharraq (Bahrain's second largest city), and were very much impressed with how well the buildings were preserved. We visited Shaikh Isa Bin Ali House; a beautiful house built around 4 courtyards and characterized by huge walls, small doors, and a wind tower, along with other cultural centers and a children's library. What was fascinating to see was how well the exterior of these centers/library was maintained and also how modernised the interior was. Shaikh Ebrahim Bin Mohammed Bin Khalifa Center of Culture and Research had a top-of-the-art theater system with beautiful interior architecture and an organised library archive. Moreover, there were expressive murals on some of the exterior walls, giving the entire area a more vibrant uplift and urban feel.

On our way out, we also found a very quirky "shrine-like" sculpture made from the most random items and took some shots of those too. We are thinking of using some of the shots taken from this trip for our next set of business cards.

Part 2 of Sultan's 50/20 Exhibition

I went to the opening of the second set of 50/20 artists at Sultan Gallery. Not all the artist were Kuwaiti this time but all the work displayed represented Kuwait in one way or another. Some examples of the work on display: the infamous 'free kuwait' logo recreated in neon lights, thus modernizing its original form;  a standard set of playing cards redesigned - where the queen and king of the suits were represented by Kuwaiti characters, and many more.

The work will be up until the 24th of February. Gallery hours: 10am - 4pm (Closed on Fridays & Saturdays).

New Swatches for Simcard Holders!

Here's a sneak peak of swatches and leathers for our next collection of simcard holders. We had some suggestions for a 8-pocket simcard holders, instead of 4-simcard pockets and one credit card holder. Yay or Nay? We'd love to hear from you.

Bright Young Things

A few days ago, while in London, we happened to pass by Selfridges on our way back home late at night. To our surprise, we saw people setting up displays. Each window had a very unique yet equally creative theme. Posted below are photos of the work in progress of a few of the window displays:

The people setting up the displays are part of Selfridges' "Bright Young Things" initiative. This select group of UK's up-and-coming designers were each given a window to set up their installations, in addition to creating some exclusive pieces for the hip department store.
