Bahrain Trip

We are saddened to see whats happening in Bahrain. We visited the country over a month ago during the same weekend as the Road Rush race and fell in love with the beautiful country and their overly-friendly people!

We spent half a day sightseeing in Muharraq (Bahrain's second largest city), and were very much impressed with how well the buildings were preserved. We visited Shaikh Isa Bin Ali House; a beautiful house built around 4 courtyards and characterized by huge walls, small doors, and a wind tower, along with other cultural centers and a children's library. What was fascinating to see was how well the exterior of these centers/library was maintained and also how modernised the interior was. Shaikh Ebrahim Bin Mohammed Bin Khalifa Center of Culture and Research had a top-of-the-art theater system with beautiful interior architecture and an organised library archive. Moreover, there were expressive murals on some of the exterior walls, giving the entire area a more vibrant uplift and urban feel.

On our way out, we also found a very quirky "shrine-like" sculpture made from the most random items and took some shots of those too. We are thinking of using some of the shots taken from this trip for our next set of business cards.
